1 lb ground beef
1 onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried basil
2 cups diced potatoes
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup milk
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup breadcrumbs


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, and cook until the onion is translucent.
  3. Season the beef mixture with salt, black pepper, dried oregano, and dried basil. Stir well to combine.
  4. Add the diced potatoes to the skillet and cook for 5 minutes, until slightly softened.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together the cream of mushroom soup and milk. Pour this mixture over the beef and potato mixture in the skillet. Stir to combine.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish. Top with shredded cheddar cheese and breadcrumbs.
  7. Cover the casserole dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
